Octave Photonics brings sophisticated nanophotonic devices to non-specialists, opening new opportunities in fields such as astronomy, telecommunications, and precision measurement.

 

UNPARALLELED PHOTONICS

Our technologies work with a wide variety of lasers—with average power up to several watts, peak power up to 10 kW, and wavelengths from the UV to the infrared.

We work primarily with nanostructures made from amorphous tantala (Ta2O5). This material has a broad transparency window—spanning from the UV to the far-infrared, high nonlinearity, and low film stress, offering easy integration with other materials. Our tantala platform allows supercontinuum generation with pulse energies below 100 pJ.

Our research and development focus on making fully packaged ready-to-use solutions for broadband supercontinuum waveguides and low-power frequency combs. These devices are designed for use in applications such as portable atomic clocks, high bandwidth optical communications, satellite subsystems, and scientific research.
